Jammu, Sep 29 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the ‘Sewa Parv’ celebrations organised by the Housing & Urban Development Department, where he laid the foundation stone for 60 projects under AMRUT 2.0 worth ₹699.79 crore.

Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha as per news agency JKNS reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable urban development. “Under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, my mission is to ensure that no one should be left behind. We will ensure that the marginalised are reached and included in the development process for greater progress and prosperity,” he said.

Calling for integration of smart technology and eco-friendly practices, the LG stressed on creating “more liveable and vibrant cities” while mitigating environmental challenges. He cited the Tawi Riverfront as a “protective shield” during recent natural disasters and an “excellent example of sustainable development.”

The LG urged the Housing & Urban Development Department to replicate successful initiatives like the Swachhata Internship Program and Green Colony model across other cities. He also encouraged citizens to “cultivate a sense of ownership” towards urban assets.

On the occasion, students and Swachhagrahis were felicitated for their contributions, and sanction letters were handed to beneficiaries under various schemes.

Several dignitaries, including MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ghulam Ali Khatana, senior officials, public representatives, and members of civil society attended the event. (JKNS)
