Sopore, Oct 1 (JKNS): In a decisive strike against the drug menace, Sopore Police on Wednesday arrested two alleged drug peddlers during a naka checking operation at Hibdangerpora Crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha, recovering brown sugar-like substance from their possession.
In statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Police apprehended two drug peddlers during a naka checking operation at Hibdangerpora Crossing under the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha.
The accused have been identified as, Bashir Ahmad Khan S/O Abdul Hameed Khan R/O Noorbagh Sopore and Suhail Ahmad Zargar alias Lala S/O Bashir Ahmad Zargar R/O Behrampora Rafiabad, it reads.
On search, a quantity of brown sugar-like substance was recovered from their possession., it reads.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 107/2025 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha, and further investigation is underway to trace their source of supply and wider network, it reads.
Sopore Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against drug peddling and urges the public to remain vigilant and report any information related to narcotics. Collective efforts are essential to safeguard youth and ensure a drug-free Sopore, reads the statement. (JKNS)
