Budgam, Oct 2 (JKNS): Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler in Chadoora and recovered heroin-like substance from his possession. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized.
In a statement police as per news agency JKNS said, A police party from Police Station Chadoora, led by PSI Goverdhan Singh, established a checkpoint at Durbugh Crossing where they intercepted a suspicious Mahindra Thar (Reg. No. DL4CNA7913). On noticing the police, the driver attempted to flee but was apprehended. During the search, contraband was recovered from his possession, it reads.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Nath S/o Mohammad Ismail Nath R/o Parnew, Wazir Bagh, Budgam. He was arrested on the spot and a case FIR No. 175/2025 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chadoora. Investigation is underway, it reads.
