In a solemn ceremony held in New Delhi, Reshi joined fellow Congress leaders, artists, and citizens to commemorate the birth anniversaries of these two iconic figures, whose values of truth, simplicity, and service continue to inspire generations.
Reflecting on the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, ER Danish Reshi said, “Bapu’s philosophy of non-violence and truth remains a guiding light for India and the world. His unwavering commitment to unity, equality, and justice laid the foundation for a free India.
As an artist and a public servant, I draw immense inspiration from his life, which teaches us to stand for what is right, no matter the odds.
”Reshi also lauded former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, whose slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” continues to resonate with India’s ethos of honoring its soldiers and farmers. “Shastri ji’s simplicity, integrity, and dedication to the nation exemplify the spirit of true leadership.
His vision for a self-reliant India continues to guide our efforts in building a stronger, inclusive society,” Reshi remarked.
The event featured a prayer meeting, garlanding of statues, and cultural performances highlighting the teachings of Gandhi and Shastri.
Reshi, known for his contributions to both Bollywood and social causes, emphasized the importance of embodying their principles in today’s times.
“As a nation, we must recommit to Bapu’s ideals of peace and Shastri ji’s vision of self-reliance to address modern challenges like inequality and division,” he urged.
ER Danish Reshi also called upon the youth to embrace the values of humility, service, and unity championed by these leaders.
“Let us pledge to carry forward their legacy by fostering harmony and working tirelessly for the progress of our nation,” he concluded.
The tribute concluded with a screening of a short film on Gandhi’s life, organized by Reshi, which was attended by local artists, students, and Congress workers.
