Srinagar, Sep 30 (JKNS): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday said that a comprehensive traffic decongestion plan for the city will be finalised within the next ten days and subsequently submitted to higher authorities for approval.
Talking to media persons, as per news agency JKNS, DC Labroo said that traffic in a city like Srinagar cannot be streamlined through isolated or minor measures.
“All line departments Traffic Police, Revenue, R&B, SMC, LCMA and SDA need to come together and prepare not just a vision, but a practical joint action plan with short-term, mid-term and long-term measures,” he said.
He added that suggestions collected from stakeholders during recent meetings have been compiled and shared with the government.
“Once the approval comes, implementation will begin so that traffic can be decongested in a scientific and coordinated manner,” the DC Labroo said. (JKNS)
