DC Kulgam inspects quarantine centers takes stock of arrangements

KULGAM, MARCH 24: Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today visited various Quarantine centers established in the district and took stock of arrangements being put in place at these centers.
The Deputy Commissioner visited Quarantine Centre established at GNM College, Baitul Hillal Centre and other quarantine centers in Kulgam and took stock of arrangements at these centers.
The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure that proper hygienic refreshment is being served at these centers to quarantined persons.He also took stock of all arrangements including, sanitation, electricity, bedding, heating and other arrangements at these Quarantine centre.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited Medical Quarantine center here at District Hospital Kulgam where he interacted with the Supervisory and Medical staff. The concerned officers from health department briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the arrangements which are in place at the Medical quarantine centre.
Later Deputy Commissioner inspected health center at Yaripora and took stock of healthcare services and measures which have been put in place to tackle COVID-19.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed the people to stay at home, maintain social distance and follow advisories of health department in letter and spirit. He added that 17 persons have been put in already established quarantine centers who have foriegn travel history and some of them were traced only after concerted efforts of the administration as they tried to concealed their travel history.
It is pertinent to mention that so far no positive case has been reported in the district and strict restriction and lockdown have been imposed in entire area. These steps have been taken by the district administration to contain the spread of Corona infection.
