Police requests Imams to appeal to people to offer prayers in home

Srinagar, Mar 25 (UNI) With three more persons tested positive for Coronavirus on Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday Imams to appeal to the people to offer prayers in their respective homes.Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, police said that forces are on the roads to save the lives of people and urged the general public to help them by staying indoors. “#JKP is on roads to save your #lives. Please help us by staying inside your homes. In case of #exigencies, #Dial 100 or 112. #JKPCARES @jmukmrpolice,” Kashmir Zone Police wrote on its official twitter handle.Meanwhile, police is using drones in some areas in Srinagar to announce restrictions on the movement of people as part of the 21-day lockdown to combat coronavirus pandemic.Acting tough against violators of government order, many shops, hotels and educational institutes were sealed while about 60 persons were arrested by the police from Srinagar, Sopore, Handwara and Anantnag in the valley during the last 48 hours.Three more persons were on Tuesday tested positive for Coronavirus in Kashmir valley, bringing the total number of infected people to four. However, officials said that the 67-year-old women, who was the first person to be tested positive for Coronavirus in Kashmir valley, has been treated successfully.
