Srinagar, March 29: The inhabitants of Kunzer area of Tangmarg expressed resentment against Power Development Department (PDD) for resorting to unscheduled power cuts, leaving the consumers high and dry.A delegation of residents from Tarhama, Dobiwan, Utikoo, Block Hardu Aboora, Batpora, Bongam and Pinjoora told JKNS that unscheduled power cuts have made their lives miserable.Aasif Wali a resident of Tarhama told told JKNS that when whole valley is under complete lockdown, PDD is not following any curtailment schedule.“We are getting on 4-5 hours of electricity during the 24 hours; it is injustice with the villagers. Although despite repeated attempts to reach out concerned officials, but they turned deaf ears to our pleas,” he said.Another local, Yunus Bhat of Lalpora Kunzur said each year people are assured of better power supply but the situation is totally opposite on the ground.
“We barely get 3-4 hours of power supply and the authorities are not following any curtailment schedule,” he said.The residents appealed Lieutenant Governor led administration and Chief Engineer PDD to look into the issue, so that people of the area would get sigh of relief from unscheduled power cuts.
