Srinagar, April 02: Amid Coronavirus crisis, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Thursday installed first disinfectant channel for decontamination and sanitization at CD hospital.The tunnel was installed by SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu who was accompanied by Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Gazsnfar Ali, Deputy Mayor Parvez Qadri and SMC Corporator Irfan Pathan.They visited CD hospital to inspect and start off the installation of the disinfectant channel at CD hospital to fend off the virus…As per the SMC officials, people including doctors, hospital workers, patients and other attendants can get sanitized instantly while entering or leaving from the hospital.SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Matti said these disinfectants channels have been built to clean / sanitize people instantly and automatically once they go through the channel.“Besides these various steps have been taken to curb the outbreak of this pandemic by sanitizing all the areas where people were found to be positive. The quarantines, hospitals and other red zone areas with a special recommended chemical QAC,” he said.Commissioner SMC ,Gazanfar Ali on the occasion said that these disinfectant channels were need of the hour and SMC engineers really worked hard in preparation of these disinfectant channels.“Ten more such channels shall soon be created/installed at various designated Covid 19 hospitals and other than that essential hospitals like LD hospital, Bone and Joints, SMHS will soon have this facility further,” he said.
