COVID: J&K Police working 24X7 to make protective gears for jawans to fight pandemic

Jammu: To fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Jammu and Kashmir Police has started making protective gears round the clock at all welfare centre in its district headquarters.
J&K Police in view of lockdown is not only maintaining the law and order situation but also reaching out to people for all kind of help and cooperation so that the masses do not face problems in getting the essential commodities.
The protective gears comprising masks, gowns and bouffant caps (head covers) are being made at welfare centres under the supervision and guidance of expert doctors of Jammu & Kashmir Police.
The jawans of J&K Police are engaged in providing ration, essential commodities, helping quarantined people following which, they are much prone to get infected of the virus.
“Keeping safety to our jawans in mind, making of protective gears has been intensified at all our district headquarters,” said an official adding that teams of expert doctors, are supervising the exercise of manufacturing this protective material.
In Jammu, the protective gears are being made in Gandhi Nagar located Welfare Centre.
“The protective gears we are making are not competing N-95 level masks in quality but still, these three layered masks can help our jawans in protecting from the infection,” said a doctor.
“The masks, bouffant caps, gowns are being made under specialized and expertise of our teams of doctors,” they said.
“Our team of around 15 men, are working round the clock to make these protective gears and the material is being provided by the department,” Rimpy Kumari, Incharge, Police Welfare Centre, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu said.
