April 11: Continuing its drive against drug dealings in Ganderbal, Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered banned drugs from his possession. Officers at a checkpoint established at Barkati Mohalla Saffapora intercepted an individual identified as Aijaz Ahmad Mir resident of Zainapora Hajin. During checking, officers were able to recover 130 grams of cannabis and 110 banned tablets from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Safapora where he remains in custody. Case FIR No. 17/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Safapora and further investigation has been initiated. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
