Srinagar, April 13: Professor (Dr) Ali Mohammad Wani, who was acting Principal of Government Degree Collge Uttersoo, Anantnag left heavenly abode on Monday, while his colleagues expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. Dr Wani was a professor of History and has served Higher Education Department of J&K in different colleges of South Kashmir from past several decades.“With profound grief, I inform that, Professor (Dr) Ali Mohammad Wani left for heavenly abode on Monday morning,” his colleague Gulzar Ahmad Itoo told JKNS.Itoo said Dr. Wani at the GDC Uttersoo said, he was a prolific academician and an experienced administrator.He was known for his honest and strict administrative approach and has always gave his best wherever he worked in Kashmir valley.Dr. Wani was a punctual, brilliant and down to earth and was always serious about his responsibilities. “He was always at the forefront and will be always remembered for his sheer brilliance during his stint as Principal of GDC Kelam, GDC Dooru, Women’s College Anantnag and GDC Uttersoo,” Itoo said.“We are deeply saddened and express our condolences to the bereaved family. Wani’s death was a loss not only to family but most of the students of the south Kashmir,” he said.On behalf of all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, we expressed solidarity with the bereaved family at this crucial juncture and pray for the departed soul.Itoo informed that Wani’s last rites were performed in his native village in Ladd Pahalgam on Monday and Taziyat would be observed for only first three days at his residence in Bilal Colony Krangsoo Anantnag.
