Srinagar, April 21: A doctor from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was tested positive on Tuesday, while 24 contacts of the patient been quarantined, officials said.An official of SKIMS said that the doctor is among 11 patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus at the institute. As per official figures, nearly 500 samples of suspected cases are under process at the institute.“The doctor has come in contact with a positive patient and his contacts have been traced, put under mandatory quarantine. He has been put in isolation and further process is followed to trace further contacts.Another official at Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla told JKNS that junior doctor from Kanispora area of the town and was on the frontline to treat patients during the pandemic period.Earlier on March 20, two female resident doctors at SKIMS Soura developed covid-19 symptoms after they were exposed to the risk of contacting the infection from a positive patient.
