Teenager drowns in canal in Ganderbal village

Srinagar, April 23: A 13-year-old boy drowned and died while bathing in a canal on Thursday in Sheikpora village of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal village, officials said. The deceased was later identified as  Zahid Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, a resident of Chanduna village of the district.As per the reports reaching JKNS that Bhat a 5th class student drowned in a local nallah when he was bathing along with his friends. The boy’s body was fished out of the canal immediately with the help of locals. Following the incident, locals tried to rescue him and was shifted to the local health centre, where doctors declared him brought dead.
