DC Shopian visits Red zone Village of Heerpora Shopian

Srinagar, April 24: Deputy Commissioner Shopian Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin Friday visited Heerpora village of Shopian district already declared as red zone area and took stock of the arrangements. On the occasion Deputy Commissioner said that there are 44 positive cases of Covid-19 active in district Shopian out of which 38 positive cases have been so far identified in village Heerpora alone. A team of doctors already in the village is testing the people for the purpose. As many as 400 samples have been taken in the area till date. Deputy Commissioner directed the Health functionaries to work with great zeal, zest, and dedication to provide every possible help to the people.He interacted with the people of the village and listened to them patiently and assured that the District administration is fully prepared to provide health care facilities to the people. He appealed for people’s cooperation in this behalf so that district administration may be able to reach their doors easily. He directed Municipal Committee Shopian who were also present on the occasion for fumigation, spray and sanitization of Heerpora village to avoid spread of virus . DC urged and emphasized upon the people of the area to remain indoors, not to panic and go out unnecessarily from their homes and save their precious lives.He stressed to adhere to and act to the advisories issued by the district administration and health department from time to time in letter and spirit and said that district administration keeps close vigil and monitoring the situation regularly.  (JKNS)
