Tally reaches to 523 in JK, 137 patients recovered
Srinagar, April 26: Twenty-nine new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Kashmir on Sunday taking the total number of people infected with the coronavirus disease in the region to 523.
J&K administration spokesperson Rohit Kansal said that the tally in the Union Territory rose to 523.
“But don’t let this number daunt you. This includes 137 recoveries too,” he said. We will keep doing aggressive testing and strict containment. And you have to support by staying at home,” he tweeted.
Kansal also added that active positive cases are 380. Now, as per the government, Bandipora has the most number of cases — 124. Trailing by Srinagar with 85 cases and Shopian with 63 cases.
By far, six people have died due to the infection and 137 have recovered in J-K.
Bandipora is the worst COVID-19 hit district in the Union Territory of J&K with 124 positive cases and one death.
More than 66,000 people are under surveillance, including those who are either in government-established quarantine facilities or in home-isolation.
Earlier, Jammu had recorded its first positive case on March 9, and Kashmir on March 18. (JKNS)
