JMC conducting intensive sanitation, fumigation operations in city

JAMMU, MAY 14: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has been conducting intensive sanitation and fumigation operations as a measure to prevent the spread of Covid- 19 infection in the city.

In the first phase, the Municipal body conducted massive sanitation drives across all the 75 wards of the city. The Sanitization drives also included fumigation of each locality. In the process, the civic workers carried out intensive spray of the disinfectants to prevent the spread of the novel infection.

In the 2nd phase, the sanitization is being done on alternate days and so far 40 wards have been covered till date.

The 5 Red Zone areas identified in the city were also sanitized and fumigated in the first phase. In the 2nd phase, repeat sanitation is being done in all these red zone areas including two newly added localities.

The JMC also conducted sanitization and fumigation of all the 62 quarantine centres in the first phase, established across the city to house the people suspected of carrying infection.  The drive has continued in the existing and 3 newly added quarantine centres in the 2nd phase too.

Meanwhile, JMC is also carrying out sanitization in the government offices of UT, Central Government offices, Installation of Para Military Forces, Sainik school, youth hostels, hostels, public places, like bus stand, railway station, cremation grounds, mosques and public transport, which is being used now for passengers with the special permission of the district administration.
