May 20: Continuing its drive against drug dealings, Sopore Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.Officers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore arrested a drug peddler identified as Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident of Khawajabagh Baramulla A/P Chinkipora Sopore. On search, Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to Police Station Sopore where he remains in custody.Case FIR No. 110/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation in the matter has been initiated.Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
