DC B’pora urges people to adhere to COVID-19 SOP’s

BANDIPORA, JUNE 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Ravinder Kumar on Monday appealed to people to strictly adhere to COVID-19 related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to contain the spread of coronavirus.

He stressed for use of masks and maintaining social distancing to prevent transmission of virus adding that it has become very important in the current scenario besides maintaining other health hygiene.

Kumar said that the precautionary measures are the only solution to break the chain of spread of virus and the situation may go out of hand, if people fail to adopt the precautionary measures.

The DC inspected the implementation of prohibitory orders in Red Zones of Ward-05, Ward -6 in Bandipora town and Ahamsharief village, he however directed the law enforcing agencies to strictly implement the restriction orders in Red Zones and also appealed to the people to stay indoors for their own safety.

He said the administration will ensure availability of essentials to the concerned at their doorsteps till the restrictions are in place in these areas.

The DC visited COVID Wellness Centers established at International Delhi Public School Kaloosa and Mehboob-ul-Alam College of Education Kaloosa and inspected the facilities available in the hospital besides other medical arrangements.

He said 700 beds have been made available in the district for the asymptomatic positive patients in different wellness centers and the COVID positive patients with no symptoms shall be referred to these wellness centers of the district.

Later the deputy commissioner inspected COVID-Level-II hospital established at Maternity Hospital Pazalpora and interacted with medical staff there.

He urged upon them to ensure every possible medical facility to the patients admitted in the hospital, besides medical staff was advised to take every precautionary measure while dealing with the patients to keep themselves safe.

DC Bandipora said there 250 beds available in COVID Level-II hospitals wherein the COVID positive patients with mild symptoms shall be admitted.

He directed the officials, medical staff and the frontline workers to continue to be alert as a single mistake can push the district back into trouble and urged the people to cooperate with the administration.

Kumar was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tehsildar Bandipora, SHO Bandipora, Nodal officers of various quarantine centers and other senior officers of the district during the visit.
