DC Budgam chairs meeting on Covid-19 Containment

BUDGAM, JUNE 17: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today chaired a meeting of officers to take detailed review of Covid-19 containment procedures adopted across the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that all measures and precautions required to contain the spread of this pandemic have been put in place besides a close vigil has also been maintained on the vulnerable spots or areas.

The DC strictly directed the concerned authorities dealing with various assignments related to Covid-19 pandemic containment, overlooking arrangements in quarantine centers, wellness and sample collection centers to follow the guidelines, protocols envisaged under ICMR directions in letter and spirit while dealing with requisite assignments.

He urged upon all the frontline workers deployed in red zone, quarantine centers and Covid hospitals to speed up efforts, particularly in red zones in enhancing contact tracing, sample collection and on spot testing of the same.

The DC added that the concerned officers or authorities in their prescribed areas must utilize the services of Panchayat Raj Institution functionaries and religious heads particularly for contact tracing.

The DC further clarified that instructions have been passed on to all SDMs, Tehsildars and others concerned to ensure that the public in general shall follow lockdown guidelines as per protocol and persons found not wearing masks and moving freely shall be dealt strictly by imposing on-spot penalty.

The meeting among others was attended by ADC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad, SSP, SDMs, ACR, ACD, CMO, BMOs all Tehsildars, SDPOs, BDOs and other concerned officials.
