North Kashmir:Gunfight breaks out in Sopore

SRINAGAR : Encounter starts between militants and security forces in Hardshiva area of North Kashmir’s Sopore on Wednesday.

According to the reports reaching a joint team of Police, Army’s 22 and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Hardshiva.

As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

A senior police officer confirmed that exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants.

Till this report was being filed intermittent firing was going on.More details will follow soon.

03. Owais Ahmad r/o Kawoosa khalisa.
04.Mohsin Qadir r/o Kurhama Budgam.
05.Abid Rather r/o Archanderhama magam.
Following Incriminating material has been recovered from their possession-
28 Live Rounds AK 47
01 Magazine AK 47
20 Posters of LeT

This group was involved in providing logistic support and shelter to active terrorists of proscribed outfit LeT. They have been active in the area for last few months.

In this regard case FIR no 101/2020 under relevant sections of UAPA has been registered in p.s Magam and investigation taken up.
