June 30: Srinagar Police submitted a charge sheet before the TADA Court against three terrorists who were involved in a terror crime.
On 2nd February 2020, terrorists had hurled a grenade upon a CRPF party deployed near Sumo Stand Pratap Park Srinagar, resulting in injuries to 07 civilians and 02 CRPF personnel of 171 Bn. Accordingly, case FIR No. 10/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kothibagh and investigation was initiated.
During the course of vigorous investigation, officers with the help of advanced technical tools identified the three terrorists involved in the said terror incident.
Subsequently all the three terrorists were apprehended along with other evidence on 06.02.2020 within 04 days from the date of incident. All the three terrorists were found affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM.
During the course of investigation, it was learnt that they were tasked to carry out more grenade attacks at different places in Srinagar City particularly in Lal Chowk area, to disturb the peace and public order by inducing terror among the general public besides posing threat to the integrity and sovereignty of the Nation.
Accordingly during the course of investigation, all the required evidence was collected in a professional manner against three involved terrorists and the case has been presented before the Hon’ble Court of Additional District and Session Judge TADA/POTA for Judicial determination.
