Kulgam, Aug 03 : A 16-year-old boy committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Devsar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, last night.
An officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer that a boy (name withheld) consumed some poisonous substance at his residence in Chat.terpora, Devsar on Sunday night.
“The family members immediately rushed him to district hospital Kulgam from where he was referred to SHMS hospital in Srinagar,” he said.
The officer said the boy was declared dead on arrival at SHMS hospital.
“The reason for the suicide was not immediately not known,” he said, adding that police have registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstances which forced the boy to take this extreme step.
