The Indian Army* under *‘Operation Sadhbhavna’* is reaching out to the communities in far-flung areas of the Kashmir Region through a series of civilian programmes aimed at improving lives of people. During the visit of *Lt Gen BS Raju, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, 15 Corps* to *Chak-Kigam Camp* locals projected the requirement of a *dental chair at primary health care centre Kandi* due to which locals are facing lots of hardship. *The General officer Commanding 15 Corps* took a serious note of the situation and promised the locals that Indian Army will assist them in solving this problem. Accordingly *Army Camp, Chak-Kigam* was tasked for this purpose and Dental chair was installed in PHC Kandi on immediate basis.
The equipments promised have been placed at *Public Health Centre, Kandi* in presence of local village elders and medical staff, this will enable the local civilian to get their treatment done at the nearest hospital. Earlier in absence of such equipments locals did not have access to quality medical facilities and used to travel Handwara and Kupwara for their treatment. These equipments will serve as a boon to those who can not afford to travel and are in their old age.
The motive behind the civic action programme is *to improve their living standards and build a strong bond with civilians*. During the event Army has also presented *Health & Hygiene related items to the Health workers* who without caring about themselves have been providing tireless service to the society during pandemic Covid-19.
The event showcased the care, empathy and resolute will of the Indian Army to have healthy and happy Kashmir. The noble gesture of the Army was well appreciated by doctors and village elders. They also conveyed their gratitude to *Lt Gen BS Raju, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, 15 Corps* for the social responsibility and commitment displayed by him.
