The JKB’s customers are upset with what they call the bank’s lackadaisical response to their problems. In view of the Covid 19 pandemic, most people prefer to go to ATM kiosks of the bank to withdraw or deposit money. But the cash deposit machines at these kiosks are out of order, more often than not. There are two CDMs outside the Residency Road branch of the bank and one nearby on the Maulana Azad Road. All the three are non-functional at the same time. These are restored after 24 hours or sometimes, after longer than that. This causes mental agony to customers who need to deposit money urgently for a relative waiting for it in a far off place outside Jammu and Kashmir. What adds to the problem is that the CDMs are available only at a few ATM kiosks. The problem has been brought to the notice of higher authorities of the bank, but nothing has changed. A consumer said; ” We want the JK Bank to flourish, but our faith has been shaken.” Another consumer says “It seems as if the bank staff were conspiring to demolish the bank’s reputation so as to pave way for its merger into some other bank..”
