B2V3: Day- 5
DDC visits various Panchayat Halqas, takes stock of public issues
GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 06: The day 2 of 2nd phase of B2V3 which is in full swing in 42 Panchayat Halqas witnessed multifarious activities throughout the district.
The District Development Commissioner, Shafqat Iqbal visited several Panchayat halqas including Wayil, Wussan-B and Lar-B where he took feedback from the visiting officers about the proceedings of the ambitious program besides listened to demands and grievances of the PRIs and locals regarding development of their areas and sought his intervention for the early redressal of the same.
On day two of 2nd leg of the program series of activities were held in these Panchayats by the visiting officers as per the schedule including organizing Mahila Sabhas, field visits, inauguration of works completed under B2V program besides distribution of various certificates, sports items and Kissan Credit cards among the beneficiaries.
The DDC was apprised with series of demands during his day long tour ranging from augmentation of power and water supply, better health facilities, repairing of roads, upgradation of schools, and many more.
At Panchayat Halqa Wayil, the DDC was apprised about the encroachment of Upper Wayil Canal, Expedition of work on Wayil bridge, Public park and other demands of public importance.
ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, BDC chairperson, Sarpanchs, district officers besides visiting officers were present on the occasion.
While replying the issues raised, the DDC urged them to participate in the program with enthusiasm as the main purpose of this programme is to collect feedback on delivery of government programmes, undertaking assessment of needs of the villages and implementation of beneficiary oriented schemes at grassroot level.
Highlighting the objective of B2V3, the DDC said that Government aims at strengthening and empowering PRIs through participatory governance which act as the buildings blocks of development of the Panchayats.
Later, the DDC also witnessed the Volley Ball match played at Wayil ground as a part of B2V3 program where he felicitated the winning team and distributes sports kits among the players.
While interacting with the players, the DDC said that series of tournaments are being organized under the B2V3 throughout the district with an aim to attract the young generation towards sports for grooming their sports skills.
Meanwhile, DDC also distributed Domicile Certificates, Kissan Credit Cards, baby Kits and Pension booklets among the beneficiaries.
