SHOPIAN 20, OCT:-The Two day long My Town My Pride Programme started from 19th October 2020 concluded today on 20th October 2020, an initiative for the Municipal areas during which campus for public Service Delivery are being setup. The main objective of the programme is Public outreach in towns, strengthen grass root democracy and service delivery at door steps.
In view of the programme My Town My Pride, Administrative Secretary Hospitality & Protocol Rukhsana Ghani along with DDC Shopian Chaudhry Mohammad Yasin today visited and inspected District Hospital Shopian to took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the patients their and enquired about the better treatment and better medicines provided to the patients in the Hospital. She also inspected and visits various spots which include X- Ray, OPD Checkup, Operation Theater, Gyane Wards and Ayush Hospital she emphasized upon the Health functionaries to provide better and all possible health care medicines to the patients and work dedication, zeal & Zest. During her visit Administrative Secretary inaugurated CTPT (Community type Public type Toilet at Shopian Bazaar completed at an amount of Rs.13.46 lacs by the Municipal Committee Shopian under Swach Bharat Mission Mode. She was informed on this occasion that seven such CTPT toilets have also been constructed by Municipal Committee Shopian at various places in the district and which are all functional. Administrative Secretary also distributed sports kits and table tennis etc. among the sports players under the programme MY Town My Pride to give increase to the sports activities in the District and to encourage the youth of Shopian to participate more & more in sports fields. She also distributed artisan registration cards at Handicrafts Office Gagren Shopian and inspected the various Handicrafts and Handloom products like Embroidery Shawls, Crewel Embroidery, waskets, Pherans, Stapple Embroidery, Raffle Pherans,Chain Stitch products and other Hand Made products.
Administrative Secretary further visited Degree College Shopian and inaugurated GYM Centre and also distributed prizes among the winning teams of table tennis and Badminton players. The visiting Officer & DDC also awarded Secretary Municipal Committee Shopian for best performance of the event My Town My Pride.
The Programme My Town My Pride will ensure on the Spot grievance redressal, instant delivery of services to the masses and on the ground speedy execution of people- centric projects the My Town My Pride programme anticipates the time bound delivery of documents like Domicile, SC/ ST/ RBA certificates and revenue services. This programme will also ensure the time bound delivery of benefits of various welfare schemes like pension scholarships, PMAY, KCC, Health golden cards and Ladli Beti etc. it also aims at empowering urban local bodies by reaching out to urban and rural population with Governance at their door steps. Every municipal Committee is being given Rs. 50 lacs to fill the gaps. Some part of the amount is used for installing street lights and some for parking spaces. Concerted efforts are made for ensuring Maximum saturation of local security and beneficiary oriented Schemes besides ensuring speedy issuance of important documents, Certificates, Revenue services & mobilization of funds towards developmental activities as per the needs of the local population, Administrative Secretary added. Administrative Secretary was accompanied by DDC Shopian, Lead Bank Manager & other District Officers.
