IGP holds meeting in Poonch, takes stock of measures for DDC polls

Poonch, Oct 26 : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh during his two-day visit to Poonch reviewed crime, security and law & order situation of the district.

During the visit, IGP along with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rajouri-Poonch Vivek Gupta chaired crime meeting of Rajouri Poonch Range, which was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral and all gazetted officers of Poonch.During the meeting, instructions were issued to finalize the cases on merit and using scientific aids in investigations and that police should adopt people friendly approach in day to day dealings.According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), IGP Jammu also reviewed the preparation of Zila Panchayat elections (District Development Council) and its related security arrangements.In the afternoon, the IGP Jammu inaugurated Police Martyrs Memorial Volleyball tournament at Sports Stadium Poonch. Later, he along with other officers visited Mandi and Loran area and reviewed the overall security scenario of the region.In the evening, the IGP attended a cultural program organized by district Police Poonch in the memory of Gallant Police Martyrs.During his visit, he interacted with prominent citizens, sports persons and general public.
