Jammu Kashmir Awami Itehad Party as an organization not to contest DDC polls, however constituency heads authorized to take a call to support senior voices.
Srinagar, NOV 23: Awami Itehad Party top brass has said that party could not take a call whether to participate in DDC polls or not due to continuous detention of Party Supremo Er Abdul Rashid in Tihar jail. However the party has asked people to support the individuals who may have good popular image and faith in AIP’s ideology. Party Spokesperson Sheeban Ashai in a statement said, “While Government has been brutal towards AIP President for his only fault of espousing the cause of Kashmiri nation, voicing sentiments and aspirations of common people.
It is unfortunate and painful that all political parties including PAGD have maintained criminal silence over his continued detention. It is crystal clear that these parties are only interested in their politics of power and are more than happy with Er Rashid’s illegal incarceration.
Though AIP is not a registered political party till date, but it cannot leave lakhs of its supporters in a state of uncertainty. Party working committee has decided to appeal masses to support the right candidates in different areas and the concerned constituency heads have been directed and authorized to a call to support genuine candidates”.
Spokesperson said AIP as an organization is not contesting these polls but party cadres will support such candidates who are close to or in agreement with AIP’s ideology.
In this regard Party General Secretary Prince Parvez has asked its constituency heads including Firdous Ahmad Baba, Ajaz Ahmad, Adv Ubaid, Mudassir Rasool, M Muzzafar Dar, M Rafeeq Bhat, M Mudassir Dar,Ab Baari, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Yousuf Haji,Farooq Ahmad Shah,M Sayir Shekh, Mudasir Nazir,Munir Ahmed, Fayaz Ahmed and other party leaders to consult grass root level workers of the party and take a call with the only purpose to strengthen those pro-Kashmir voices who believe in AIP and Er Rashid stand for.
