SAMBA, JANUARY 06: District Skill Committee meeting was today held here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria to discuss the skill development plan for the district.
Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour; General Manager, District Industry Centre, Sansar Chand; District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar; Superintendent ITI, AD Employment and other members were present in the meeting.
A detailed presentation regarding ongoing Skill Development activities/ programmes undertaken by the concerned departments was given in the meeting. Deputy Commissioner directed each department to immediately submit a report on the ongoing activities. He emphasised on the need to capacitate more people with skill of varied trades and directed for giving wide publicity to the programme. He also asked the concerned departments to formulate their plans by incorporating the courses/ job roles prescribed under Pradhan Mantri Koushal Vikas Yojna( PMKVY 3.0 ). The DDC laid stress upon incorporating industrialists, traders, manufacturers and other employment generating institutions for absorbing the youth especially the school dropouts for skill development.
The DDC said the focus of skill development schemes should be to ensure creation of a robust skill ecosystem in the district, which will enable the youth to get maximum skilling opportunities within their districts.
