Army launches Student Development Programme in Chhatru

KISHTWAR, JANUARY 12: In a noble initiative to uplift the educational standards of class 9th to 12th students and to help them perform better in upcoming session & board exams, a “Student Development Programme” was today launched by Commander Sector 9 RR Brigadier, Pranab Mishra and CO 11 RR, Shishpal Singh in presence of Joint Director Education Ramban-Doda-Kishtwar, Roshan Lal.

The programme, which has been planned by Directorate of School Education in collaboration with Indian Army, is expected to benefit around 120 students of the remote areas of Chhatru Sub Division.

Speaking on the occasion Commander 9 Sector RR said that this Programme marks a stepping stone for the bright future of local students and gives a ray of hope to young students of far-flung areas of Kishtwar. The “STUDENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME” is first of its kind in Kishtwar district, which encompasses four phases for comprehensive development of young bright sparks of Chhatru Sub Division.

Programme will not only assist students of Chhatru sub division in passing academic exams but also prepare them for competitive exams and skill development, he added.

Chief Education Officer, Ashok Kumar; Dy. CEO, Rajinder Kumar Sen besides  200 parents and 120 students of Chhatru sub division marked their presence on the occasion.

 Locals appreciated the initiative being taken by Indian Army and District administration for the overall development of Chhatru Sub Division.

On this occasion, Joint Director Education lauded the efforts of army and sought the cooperation of the masses to make the programme a grand success, which aims at uplifting the education status of this remote area.

He further advised the students to work hard to cope with the present competitive world.
