JAMMU, JANUARY 12: A delegation of All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association from Jammu today called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan at Civil secretariat here.

The members of delegation led by Pawan Gupta submitted a memorandum of demands and issues to the Advisor pertaining to simplification of renewal system of hotels, registration/renewal of licenses and other concerning issues regarding Ease of Doing Business. They also called for simplification of obtaining no objection certificates from line departments like Pollution Control Board, Fire and Emergency Services.

The delegation said that the tourism sector is already under stress due to Covid pandemic and therefore needs a handholding from the government. They also said that regular meetings with various stakeholders should be organised to educate the hotel owners about the processes required for registration, revival and survival and other processes related to the tourism industry.

Advisor gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands put forth by the delegation and assured that the Government will take adequate measures for redressal of their genuine issues.

Another delegation of Jammu Kashmir Welfare Federation/Senior Citizens Civil Society led by its President Sampat Prakash met the Advisor and apprised him of several issues with regard to Jammu Kashmir Industries (JKI).

The delegation raised the issue about government’s efforts in the revival of sick units of Jammu Kashmir Industries so that they become viable functional units. They said that infrastructure is already available and government’s helping hand will provide a much-needed impetus in the revival of the sick units. They also demanded release of pay arrears of JKI employees besides other issues.

Advisor assured that all the genuine issues raised by the delegation would be taken up for redressal.
