Saroori calls on Lt Governor in Jammu Raises various developmental, educational, power projects and road connectivity related issues

Jammu, January 20: Former Cabinet Minister and Vice President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, Ghulam Mohammed Saroori called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to project demands of people.

During his meeting with Lt Governor, the Congress Vice President G. M Saroori demanded clearance of snow from Chatroo-Sinthan-Khanbal road which has continued to remain blocked.

Saroori demanded sanctioning of tunnel for Bonda-Chatroo to Nawapachi Marwah, Government Degree Colleges for Malanoo Kahara, Bunjwah and Jakyas areas of the hilly district which is struggling to get basic amenities.

While appraising about the issues of the locals, Saroori appealed the LG to direct concerned department for augmentation of water supply in hilly areas of Kishtwar and Doda districts, while the procurement of HDPE pipes for per divisions has urgent requirement in view of growing public concern and shortage of clean drinking water.

With regard to the electrification of un-electrified villages, he demanded the electrocution of left out villages which were sanctioned under RGGVY phase II and DDU schemes. He also urged for establishment of education zones for Kahara and Mugalmaidan, and upgradation of tourism infrastructure in hilly areas.

He further demanded regularization of daily wagers, casual labourers, H.R. workers, GRS’s, NYC, ReT and Rehbar E Khel. He demanded recruitment on the vacant posts of teachers, dental doctors, and MBBS posts in all PHC’s.

With regard to the long pending liabilities in different departments, he said that the ground work has affected badly due delay in clearing the pending liabilities of the works done under MGNREGA, PMAY and SBM in various districts particularly Kishtwar and Doda.

Saroori also said that the Rattle Power Project at Drabshalla Inderwal should be started as early as possible to meet the shortage of electricity. He said that the construction work of the road from Sudmahadev to Khanbal via Singpora Vailoo tunnel should expertise and start-up small scale industry units in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

He also brought attention of the LG towards the education system and demanded that various schools in far-flung areas of Inderwal Constituency include Singpora, Rahal, Passerkote, Chingam, Dumber, Gorinal, Batwari, Sigdi, Bhata, Dadpeth, Durbeel, Kuriya, Sarawan, Mangthalla, Sarawan, Sirgwari, Angara, Poora, Bhagra Sarthal, Kontwara, Lass Saroor, Tipri Patshalla, Mori, Patnazi, Bunjwah, Phagsoo, Kencha, Gugara, Malanoo, Tanta, Trankhle, Bathri, Amritpura, Jakyas and other schools of Doda and Kishtwar districts require upgradition and it should be done within a stipulated time so that the students are not forced to travel miles for higher education. “We should provide education at the doorstep and the demand for upgradation of various schools should be accepted,” he said.

After hearing him patently, the Lt Governor assured the Former Minister that all the genuine demands would be looked into earnestly for their redressal on priority.
