January 20: Sopore Police have arrested and registered a case against Police personnel namely Peer Khalid for his ‘sarcastic’ post on the social media about a particular community regarding the yesterday’s earthquake on networking site face-book.
On 20 January 2021, Police Station Dangiwacha received a written complaint from community members regarding the ‘sarcastic’ post that was uploaded by the Police personnel. Police party instantly swung into action and arrested the said Police personnel. He has been shifted to Police Station Dangiwacha where he remains in custody.
Accordingly a case FIR No. 12/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been initiated.
Community members have applauded the efforts made by the Sopore Police. We assure community members that police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
