Parivaar School is being run by Teevra Drishti unit of Dagger Division of Indian Army for specially abled children of Baramulla town and surrounding areas. This unique initiative was started with the intent of providing necessary occupational therapy, medical assistance and basic education to these children so that they can live independent life and reach their full potential.

The Army set up the Parivaar School in 2017 with two teachers and eight special children onboard. In the intervening years Army has taken care of all concerns of the establishment with the resources at its disposal and due to dedication of Parivaar School team and officers of Dagger Division, today we have 79 special children who attend the school on regular basis. Unfortunately in mar last year we had to close operations at the school due to the COVID 19 pandemic. However with consistent effort of the Dagger Division a MoU was signed on 15 Feb 2021 between Chinar Corps of Indian Army and Indrani Balan Foundation, to support Parivaar School.

Indrani Balan Foundation is a Pune based NGO which came forward to assist Indian Army in providing better infrastructure  for Parivaar School.  With the help of this aid we will be able to build a new building for the school with separate cl rooms, therapy room, and activity room and play area for children. The project is going to start this month and likely to be completed by Jun this year. The NGO is also going to support day to day functioning of the school. We plan to reopen the School for children in Jun this year subject to the government guidelines on COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sole aim of this initiative by Indian Army is to benefit maximum such children from the valley with different kind of disability to live an independent life by training them in activities of daily living, skill development, communication skill, self-reliance social behavior and interaction and awareness of environment. Our endeavor is to provide assistance to all the specially abled children in valley and help them lead a regular life who are often neglected by the society. This initiative of Dagger Division is being very well received and highly appreciated by the local Aawam.
