Encroachment on migrant Land removed at Vessu

Acting on the Orders of District Magistrate, Tehsildar Qazigund assisted by Police Party led by SHO Qazigund today removed illegal occupation of land measuring 01 Kanal 07 Marlas covered under Survey No. 514, 515 at Estate Vessu.

The encroachment drive was carried out under the supervision of Additional district magistrate Ghulam Hassan Sheikh.

The land recorded in the name of Shmt. Prabhavati Raina Wd/O Late Shambunath Raina R/O Vessu was illegally occupied by Mst. Sara W/O Nissar Ahmad Reshi and Manzoor Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad sons of Ghulam Nabi Khanday R/O Vessu for almost 15 years.

The case was dealt in detail by Financial Commissioner Revenue, who vide order No. 1004/FC-AP dated 23-07-2018 had issued directions for evicting the unauthorized illegal occupants.

The Case had been litigated by the parties in High Court, which vide No. OWP 777/2015 MP No. 1/2015 dated 02-06-2015 had directed the DM Anantnag to protect the land of the migrant under MIP Act.

With the eviction of unauthorized occupation of the land, the migrant breathed a sigh of relief and appreciated District Administration for providing much needed support to her.

In the meantime, the district administration has urged the village numberdars and chowkidars to keep tight vigil over migrant property and bring incidents of illegal encroachment on such lands to the notice of concerned tehsildars.
