Srinagar- 26th March. The Srinagar edition of 28th Annual Football Championship two matches were played today 26th March 2021 at TRC Turf Ground Srinagar. The first match was played between Novelty Sports & Kashmir Avenger FC. Both the teams started with an aggressive note and tried to dominate, but both found it very difficult to find the net. The players exhibited tremendous skill, ball control & man to man marking was the main feature of the game. Both the teams had a tough defence lineup and prevented the forward lines to penetrate. It was during the last five minutes that Kashmir Avengers forward player was blocked in the penalty area & rough tackling awarded a penalty infavour of Kashmir Avenger & Mouziz of Kashmir Avenger missed the target. The full time ended goalless draw . The match was decided by enforcing tiebreaker rule. Novelty Sports defeated Kashmir Avenger FC by 5-4
The second match was played between Downtown Hero’s FC & Lonestar KFC. Both the teams from the start of the match tried to consolidate their position and maintained the rhythm with up & down movement with superb passing. Both the teams tried hard to take the lead & in 40th minute of Ist half Lonestar KFC was fortunate to get a bonus from Downtown FC where in their defender’s mistake converted a self goal. Towards the end of the match Downtown Hero’s FC equalized by converting a free kick. The match was abundand because of pooorlight. The .match will played for the remaining period on Monday at 1pm Sharp as per the Ground rules already issued
