May 09: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Budgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Chrar-i-Sharief at a checkpoint established at Zinpanchal Crossing intercepted one person identified as Mysir Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Hassan Mir resident of Dalwan Pakherpora. On checking, 210 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 37/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chrar-i-Sharief and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
