DC Kulgam briefs on Covid-19 situation in the district

Aggressive testing mechanism in place across district, adherence to SOPs effective tool

KULGAM, MAY 14: Aggressive testing mechanism in place across the district Kulgam to detect positive cases and more than 2000 Covid-19 tests are being done every day in district stated Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here.

This DC said this while briefing the media about the measures taken to deal with the 2nd wave of COVID-19 situation in the district.

He said that  there is availability of 100 high flow oxygen beds at District hospital and besides covid care Centers have been established in the district.

Presently 3225  positive persons are under home Quarantine in the district and proper follow up of these persons is ensured besides Corona kits have been provided to them.

Patients who develop any severity in home Quarantine are being shifted to covid hospitals for further treatment.

At District hospitals 1000 lpm oxygen plant was already in service however one more plant with capacity of 350 lpm was added at District hospital the DC added.

He also stated that the positivity rate of cases is high in the district and people should adhere to SOPs in letter in spirit which is an effective tool to contain the spread of this infection.

Nearly 60 percent of the population above the age of 45 stands vaccinated in the district he added.

People should not panic and keep following the restrictions and SOPs/guidelines  issued by the Administration for breaking the chain, said Dr Bilal.
