SRINAGAR, MAY 17: The Enforcement Wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) today conducted a demolition drive in the area of Khawajabagh Teilbal, Kral Mohalla Ishber, Ranger stop Saidakadal, Friends Colony Shalimar and Rainawari.

During the drive two second storeys, one single storey and under construction shops raised in the green belt/ residential area were demolished on spot.

It was given out that the violators are taking advantage of the current Covid-19 curfew situation. Besides, legal action warranted under rules was initiated against these violators.

The demolition team faced resistance in the area of Jogilanker Rainawari where miscreants hampered the demolition process.

Meanwhile, the authorities have warned the residents living in the LAWDA jurisdiction not to indulge in illegal construction activities or dumping the construction material in the restricted areas without permission.
