Uri, May 19: At least twenty-three families have shifted to safer places in Zamborpatan village of Uri after landslide and shooting stones.

Sarpanch Noor Hussain Shah of Zamoorpatan told GNS that since last night, landslide and shooting stones from Kala Pahad Mountain created havoc in the area. “23 families have shifted to nearby households,” he said, adding, “In the past few years so, many houses were partially damaged due to these shooting stones and landslides mostly during wet weather.”

He appealed administration including DC Baramulla to take some steps to stop the shooting stones. Otherwise, he said, it can take lives anytime.

Tehsildar Uri Syed Kursheed Ahmad told that families were shifted to safer places nearby.
He said he has directed to concerned Naib Tehsildar and Patwari to assess the situation.
