DC Srinagar reviews intensified Vaccination drive for priority groups

SRINAGAR, JUNE 02: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today called for an intensified vaccination drive of all vulnerable and target groups  to break the transmission chain of infection in the district.

The DC said this while chairing a meeting of Zonal Medical  Officers, Tehsildars to review progress of ongoing vaccination and the roadmap for scaling up the percentage of the vaccination in Srinagar to protect and safeguard precious  human lives.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Khurshid Ahmad, SDM East  Owais Mushtaq, SDM West, Akhshay Labro, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Jameel,  Incharge Covid Control, Masarat Hashim  and other concerned were present in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the current vaccination status and directed the concerned to cover all left out population of target groups as soon as possible.

He said vaccination is imperative to fight against the Coronavirus pandemic and pushed for vigorous vaccination in district particularly of vulnerable groups including shopkeepers, street vendors, transporters and other people directly involved in public delivery system.

The DC urged all the officers to ensure cent percent vaccination target is achieved within their respective jurisdictions.

He also directed for conducting RAT tests at all Panchayat level Covid Care Centers across the district.

The DC said containment zones shall be de-notified only after considering vaccination percentage.

He also called for preparing micro management plans of all areas to ensure proper outreach and expanded vaccination coverage in the district.

The DC further directed for establishing additional vaccination sites at specific locations so that maximum target population is benefitted. He also asked the concerned to expedite the anti Covid-19 vaccination procces by mobilising  Asha workers, Anganwadi workers,  BLOs as well as PRI members and religious heads across the district to scale up the vaccination drive.
