India reports over 1.32 lakh Covid cases; 3,207 deaths in 24 hours: Top Developments

India on Wednesday registered over 1.32 lakh new cases and 3,207 deaths in the last 24 hours.

India has registered 1,32,788 new cases and 3,207 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Home Ministry.

India is witnessing a steady decline in fresh coronavirus cases. Here are the top developments.

TOP DEVELOPMENTS

  • The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Tamil Nadu with 26,513 cases, followed by Kerala with 19,760 cases, Karnataka with 14,304 cases, Maharashtra with 14,123 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 11,303 cases.
  • Around 64.77 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Tamil Nadu alone responsible for 19.97 per cent of the new cases.
  • Maximum casualties were reported in Maharashtra with 854 daily deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu with 490 daily deaths.
  • India’s recovery rate now stands at 92.48 per cent.
  • A total of 2,31,456 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 2,61,79,085 across the country.
  • India’s active caseload stands at 17,93,645. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 1,01,875.
  • India has administered a total of 23,97,191 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 21,85,46,667.
  • A total of 20,19,773 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
