Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal; contraband substance recovered

June 04: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested one drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, officers from Police Station Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Badar Kund intercepted one suspicious person identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Mohammed Sultan Dar resident of Shahpora Badar Kund. During checking, officers were able to recover 600gms of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 94/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
