June 12: Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar Police have arrested eleven gamblers from Hotel Pleasure Khayam and seized stake money of ₹62,320 from the gamblers.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling activity, a police party from Police Station Khanyar raided Hotel Pleasure Khayam and arrested eleven gamblers.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹62,320/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 41/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khanyar and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
