Delegation of PHD-Chambers of Commerce & Industry Kashmir call on DC Srinagar

SRINAGAR, JUNE 17: A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Kashmir Chapter led by its Chairman, Baldev Singh Raina today called on the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad to acknowledge the contribution of ‘Corona Warriors’ during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The delegation felicitated the Deputy Commissioner who is also the Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Srinagar and presented him a momento for his tireless efforts in Covid-19 mitigation measures.

During the meeting, the delegation put forth several suggestions with regard to the livelihood scenario of district Srinagar and overall Covid-19 containment and management aspects.

The delegation stressed that collective efforts of stakeholders and Administration are necessary to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic and strict adherence to the Covid-19 SOPs and vaccination is the only remedy to control the infection of deadly Coronavirus virus.

The DC sought cooperation from the business community to complete Covid vaccination process in the district.

They said people should come forward for vaccination for the expected jump in vaccine inoculation to safeguard every one  from Covid-19.

It was added that vaccination camps need to setup in colonies,  societies, industrial estates and other important places with the support of local Mohalla Committees and Tourism stakeholders to push the vaccination drive.

The delegation also brought various issues pertaining to socio-economic development, livelihood security for marginalised besides revival of Business and Tourism industry.

The delegation also demanded that public parks and gardens be thrown open for public with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.

The DC gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all their issues will be taken with concerned for early redressal.

The members who were part of the delegation include Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, Vicky Shaw, Jan Muhammad Kaul and Himayu Wani.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Syed Hanief Balkhi and Chief Planning Officer were present on the occasion.
