Poonch, Jun 19:A senior police officer posted as Station House Officer (SHO) at police station Rajouri has allegedly been manhandled by Army men on Mughal Road.

Reportedly, SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani was on Mughal Road when Army men deployed on Poshana Army check post and police officer entered into verbal duel.

“In initial reports, it has come to our knowledge that SHO has been manhandled to a greater extent.” police officials said.

Wishing anonymity, they said that manhandling of officer has created a wave of resentment among police cadre in Rajouri and Poonch who are demanding action as per law in this incident.

Senior officers of both police and army have reportedly rushed to the spot for further inquiry into the matter.
