Automated driving track facility proposed for Doda Town
DODA, JULY 10: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma today chaired a meeting of District Road Safety Committee here at DC office Doda and discussed the road safety action plan.
The DC directed the ARTO to frame a comprehensive project report for the establishment of an automated driving testing track facility covering all important aspects for Doda town.
It was informed that the land for the scrap yard has been identified, while the land for construction of the ARTO office is being finalized. The DC sought a comprehensive report on the accidents in the district citing reasons and remedial measures to minimize the same.
For the safety audit of roads, the DC constituted a committee comprising ADC Doda, ARTO, Dy SP Traffic, Ex En PWD, GM NHIDCL. The committee will review the existing measures, the present status of the roads besides what is to be done.
The mandate of the Committee will be to make recommendations for improving the road infrastructure.
Moreover, the DC directed the executing agencies to install signage and milestones on all the roads and take strict action against motorists and public transport operators found plying on the roads not approved for vehicular traffic.
Regarding strict enforcement of traffic measures, he DC directed the ARTO to issue a circular as a member secretary of DRSC to all the executive Magistrates to challan the traffic violators in their respective jurisdictions.
The meeting was attended by CPO Doda, SP operations, ARTO, Executive Engineer PWD & PMGSY, Manager NHIDCL, CMO, CEO, besides the representatives of other members were also present.
