DGP sanctions about Rs.6.50 lakh welfare relief for Retired/NoKs of martyred/deceased police personnel/SPOs

Srinagar. July 11: Continuing with its endeavour to provide succor to retired policemen, families of martyred/deceased Police personnel/SPOs, the Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 6.45 lakh as Welfare relief so as to ease up their financial distress.
Welfare relief of rupees four lakh twenty thousand has been sanctioned in favour of 27 retired/NoKs of deceased Police personnel. The welfare relief sanctioned for different purposes includes self treatment or treatment of dependants, marriage of their wards or to ease up their financial distress ranges from the minimum amount of rupees 10,000 to the maximum of rupees 25,000. The amount has been granted out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
Rupees 50 thousand each as financial assistance has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of martyr SPOs Manzoor Ahmad Parra and Tariq Ahmad Bhat in connection with marriage ceremonies of their daughters. The amount has been sanctioned out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.
Besides, welfare relief of rupees one lakh twenty five thousand has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of five martyred Police personnel. The financial assistance sanctioned is to ease up their financial distress and to meet their urgent needs regarding the treatment of legal heirs of martyred personnel.
Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
