Review implementation of NHM schemes in the district

GANDERBAL, JULY 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna along with Mission Director (MD), National Health Mission (NHM) J&K, Choudhary M Yasin, today inspected the functioning of dialysis unit at District Hospital (DH) Ganderbal.

While inspecting the facilities at the dialysis unit, the CMO informed the duo that the dialysis unit is approved at the cost of Rs 46.5 lakh under Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program and over 15 sessions have been done since its inauguration under the observation of medical consultants and trained technical staff.

The MD also reviewed the implementation of various schemes of the NHM in the district and distributed sanitary napkins among adolescent girls under Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK).

The duo also inspected the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) which aims to ensure better survival and health of newborn and their development and enquired about the facilities provided to them.

The MD urged the concerned that all facilities shall be ensured to the beneficiaries as per the protocol.

They also inspected District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) and reviewed its operationalization, and status of linking children screened for defects at birth including deficiencies, diseases, developmental delays and disabilities. The MD also enquired about the care, support and treatment provided to improve survival outcome of such children.

The MD stressed for effective implementation of all schemes of NHM in the district that are aimed at bringing about dramatic improvement in the health system and the health status of the people and seeks to provide access to equitable, affordable and quality health care at the doorstep of the people.
